After a disappointing loss, N-P boys bounce back for a big victory

Lead Summary

Nashua-Plainfield boys basketball coach Sam Brown and his players knew the Huskies hadn’t played one of their best games Friday night; in fact, they knew they hadn’t even come close in a 56-35 loss to Osage.
“Almost every time we’ve seen a team a second time this year, we’ve played much better,” Brown said, “so it was a little frustrating, and I’ll be honest, I was a little interested in how we’d respond.”
The Huskies responded just fine the following day as they got off to a quick start and rolled past North Butler 65-45 to improve to 7-8 overall and 5-8 in Top of Iowa Conference East Division games.
Nashua-Plainfield jumped on their rivals early Saturday as the Huskies took a 19-12 first quarter lead, built a 31-20 halftime lead and took a 41-24 advantage into the fourth quarter.
