Chickasaw boys have lofty goals

Lead Summary

In the spring of 2006, New Hampton claimed its second straight Northeast Iowa Conference boys golf title.  Since then, it's been all Decorah all the time.  The 2017 Chickasaws, though, believe they have a team that can end Decorah's reign.  Five of New Hampton's six starters from a year ago return to the course on Friday, when the Chickasaws are scheduled to open the season with a home meet against Charles City.  "We do feel like we can make a run at it because of the experience we have back," New Hampton coach Bill Glenn said. "A lot can happen in golf and we know that, but at the same time, our guys have high expectations for themselves."  Leading the way for Glenn's team is a senior class that makes up half the squad's 12-man roster.  Carter Stochl is the leader out of the clubhouse as the University of Northern Iowa signee is looking to become a four-time all-NEIC performer.  The rest of the story may be found in the April 4 Tribune.
