Chickasaw girls crush field, to play at state next Tuesday

Lead Summary

On a windy Monday, New Hampton's girls finished 37 strokes lower than any other team at Region 3 of the Class 2A regional finals. The win  advances the girls to the state tournament, which will start next Tuesday, May 28 in Ames.
The 339 scored by the Chickasaw girls was, in fact, the lowest score from the five regions around the state. Allison Nuss led all golfers with a 73 and Morgan Nuss was second with a 79.

"We were happy with our team score, especially today with the winds," said coach Eric Olson.

New Hampton will tee off Tuesday at the Ames Golf and Country Club as the state tourney runs Tuesday and Wednesday.
