Chickasaws open with a bang

Lead Summary

Sadie Tenge was asked last week how it felt to be finally competing again, and the New Hampton senior answered with a wide smile.
“It feels awesome,” Tenge said. “Being out that first game against Denver, I was so happy. I was finally out there doing what I love, with my teammates.”
Tenge’s return to competition after an agonizing 13 months was one of the highlights of the Chickasaws’ first week of the softball season, as New Hampton went 3-1 — beating Denver 10-6 last Monday night, sweeping Decorah 12-3 and 13-0 Thursday and falling to Class 4A Mason City 5-3 on Friday.
