Committee to dig deeper into changes at pool

Lead Summary

Parks and Recreation officials still are looking at some major renovations to the New Hampton Municipal Pool.Tara Hackman, the department's program manager, said the Pool Committee will meet later this month with officials from Burbach Aquatics to discuss possible renovation items.“We have a good facility but we also know we have some updating to do,” Hackman said. “A lot of it comes down to how much it will cost and then the question becomes how will we pay for it?”Both Hackman and Parks and Recreation Director Rick Kramer say the No. 1 priority is to renovate the facility's kiddie pool, which does not meet standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act.“That 'curb' [that surrounds the current kiddie pool] has to go,” Hackman said. “We'd like something that has a zero depth [entry] with fun toys for the kids.”For the complete story see the 8/2/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
