Committee will look to promote Nashua’s ‘lake’

The Nashua City Council is looking to “reactivate” its Lake and Dam Committee, and if a meeting Tuesday night was any indication, there’s plenty of interest in the community.City Council members Ryan Jung and Brenda Roberts hosted the informational meeting on the future of Cedar Lake at the Gateway to Northeast Iowa Welcome Center.A Lake and Dam Committee was established in 2008, but it has been dormant in recent years.Current council members would like to get a group re-assembled to steadily work on solutions to protect Nashua’s No. 1 tourist attraction.Applications to be a committee member were handed out to many of the 26 people who attended the meeting.— For more on this story, see the July 29 Tribune and the Aug. 4 Reporter
