Couple gets national TV shot for their unique firm

Lead Summary

If it can be recycled, it just might be in that flower pot. That’s pretty much the motto of Brett and Lavonne Ohm’s business, New Horizons Flower Pots, and now it is garnering national attention.Last fall, the Discovery Channel’s “Made by Destruction” show visited the Fredericksburg business and shot more than six hours of video to be used on a future show. And last month, the show made its debut on the Science Channel. This is, after all, a unique business. The Ohms have used recycled tires, plastics and cigarette butts, just to name a few, to make their products.“The first thing people ask us is can they just drop off tires,” Lavonne Ohm said before adding with a laugh, “and then we emphasize, we don’t do the recycling but we use recycling parts. So please, don’t drop your tires off here.”However, it’s an interesting business, one the Ohms have owned for 12 years and one they work around their “real jobs.”For the complete story see the 7/5/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
