Defense delivers perfect week for Chickasaws

Lead Summary

After suffering their first two losses of the season two weeks ago, the New Hampton baseball team bounced back in a big way this past week, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 30-1, as they improved their record to 17-2.
“We had one goal going into last week, and that was to be 17-2,” senior Keegan Kane said. “The bouncing back was just mental. The two games we lost were because we just weren’t mentally there in the game.”
The Chickasaws started off the week on Monday with a Northeast Iowa Conference win at Charles City 9-1. Cory McDonald’s team used a seven run second inning to pave the way to the victory.
