Dorothy Ann Heying dies at 79

Dorothy Ann Heying, 79, of Lutherville MD, passed away on May 30, 2017. She was born on June 12, 1937 to Robert and Helen Busta in Little Turkey, Iowa.  She lived for many years in the Midwest, but also resided in Utah, Florida, and Arkansas before moving to Maryland in early 2016.
In addition to raising her six children, Dorothy also worked for many years as a practical nurse, and later for Heyco Inc., the manufacturing company she co-owned with her husband Norman. She loved to sing, dance, cook, shop, golf, garden, and socialize with their many friends. She was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling to many destinations around the world. She was active in many clubs and organizations throughout her lifetime, including the garden club, Red Hat Society, VFW, and her church.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Patricia Kellner, her children Virginia Marsh, Susan Yount, Timothy Heying, Denise Moore, Kelly Pleimann, and Rodney Heying. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Norman Heying, brother Donald “Sluggo” Busta, grandson Andrew Marsh, and great-grandson Ezekial Castro.
A Memorial Mass for Norman and Dorothy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 31, with burial immediately following at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church 3303 160th St.  Little Turkey, IA 52154.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to either the Andrew C. Marsh Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
