The ‘fair’ comes to the nursing home

Lead Summary

There were calves, puppies, rabbits, goats and more, but the animals weren’t the most important part of the “Fair Day” held at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center last week.Neither was the popcorn, the fair-like atmosphere or even the weather, which by the way was drop-dead gorgeous.“The best part of the day was just seeing the smiles from the residents,” said Donna Rosonke, who works in the nursing home’s Activity Department. “They loved it. They loved having their children, their grandchildren, their great-grandchildren there and enjoying time with them.”Not that Rosonke wasn’t very appreciative for the Sumner-Fredericksburg Lucky Clovers 4-H Club, whose members brought their animals and shared them with those who call New Hampton Nursing and Rehab home. She said that a co-worker at Kensington Place suggested the idea, and the two went to work on setting up the event. For the complete story see the 7/5/2016 New Hampton Tribune.
