Floren Alton Bravener, age 85, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner.Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at Hillcrest Baptist and Brethren Church in Fredericksburg with Pastor Todd Yeaton presiding.Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with Dan McFarland, Lyle Huebner, Marvin Steege, Marvin Hildebrandt, Deterd Korporal, and Doug Fober serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lavern Testorff, Donald Pett, Raymond Harrison, Dean Fober, Vern Steege, Marlowe Steege, Alvin Westendorf, Marvin Westendorf, and Wayne Lienau. Friends may greet the family 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.  Online condolences for Floren's family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.comFloren Alton Bravener was born July 6, 1931, at St. Joseph Hospital, New Hampton, the son of Sturgis and Elsie (Blanchard) Bravener. He attended Barker #6 country school, west of his parents farm. Floren was a 1949 graduate of Fredericksburg High School. Upon graduation, Floren farmed the Bravener farm for 57 years retiring in 2006. He was united in marriage to Lillian R. Vondracek on May 18, 1963, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union one son, Craig was born. He also spent time driving truck for the Fredericksburg Produce. Floren helped Elmer Buhr for many years shelling corn and hauling grain. Floren is survived by one son, Craig (Audrey) Bravener of Fredericksburg; grandson, Jentry Bravener of Fredericksburg; four step - grandchildren, Shawn, Faydra, Bryant, and Trent Davis; great-step-grandchild, Tyson Gitch.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lillian in 2007.
