Former Chickasaw qualifies for canceled national tournament

Lead Summary

The Coronavirus pandemic has made a drastic impact worldwide. One area in-particular is in the sporting world, as many professional and collegiate sporting events have been suspended or canceled.
New Hampton High School graduate and current University of Northern Iowa wrestler Michael Blockhus is just one of many athletes this has affected. Blockhus secured a spot in the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships set to be held in Minneapolis, but the event was canceled due to this virus, bringing an abrupt end to his freshman season.
“It was a very sad experience because many of these guys have poured their heart and soul into this sport, and to watch it be taken away was a very painful experience,” Blockhus said.
