Grinding out some wins

The wins for the Nashua-Plainfield wrestling team were nice, but the losses and the lessons they taught may be just as important.  In the end, coach Al Frost will take the first half of the season that came to an end with a 2-1 night at the Huskies’ home quadrangular and a solid 2-4 showing at the Battle of Waterloo.  “Our guys battled, they saw why we use strategy in dual meets and all in all, I’ll take it,” Frost said as his team wrapped up its pre-Christmas portion of the season with a 7-11 record. “For how young we are, for how inexperienced our guys are, we’re hanging in there.”  Start with that quadrangular that saw the Huskies beat Aplington-Parkersburg 48-36, fall to Sumner-Fredericksburg 66-12 and top Hampton-Dumont 42-36.  In the opener, the Huskies, got pins from Tristen Brase, Dylan Downing, Nathan Dettmer, Evan Kalainoff and Brock Dietz and Noah Foelske got a forfeit to deadlock the match at 36.   What happened next may be found in the Dec. 22 Reporter, page 10 to be exact.
