Night of Conflict well worth it to Chickasaws

On the mat, one won and one lost, but the reality for two New Hampton wrestlers is this: They both won at the Night of Conflict last week.   Just the fact that Noah Fye and Michael Millage had a chance to compete at the prestigious dual meet made them winners. So, too, was how they wrestled against top-notch competition.   “It was a lot of fun,” Millage said, “and even though I hate to lose, I’m glad I went and I’m glad I had a chance to do this.”   While Millage lost a 19-11 decision to Illinois’ Jason Renteria , who is ranked in the top three in the nation, Fye had a statement win as he pinned Atlantic’s Carter Cox in a mere 35 seconds at the meet that was held last Friday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.  More on the story may be found in the Oct. 21 Tribune.
