Larry A. Edwards, age 76 of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 15, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, in Rochester, Minnesota.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg with the Rev. Ronnie Koch presiding.
Friends greeted the family from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
A private family burial will take place.

Larry Allen was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Fort Dodge, the son of Ross and LuElla Edwards.
He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in the Class of 1960. Larry was known in high school for his football and basketball abilities ”making many a shot from the corner. He then graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette with a degree in sociology.
Larry had a long successful career with De Laval Dairy Equipment Company that took his family from the Midwest to North Carolina and California and back again, with many adventures along the way. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Larry was an avid sports fan. A longtime Hawkeye fan, he belonged to a family of faithful Cub fans. He was also a Green Bay Packer fan. He took his family on many fun trips to games through the years.
There were also many family fishing trips “up north” to Loon Lake. He passed that love on to his son Brock, who now takes his sons (Larry’s grandsons) —  Mason, Gavin, and Rowan, who now fish as often as possible.
He also loved music and concerts, a love he passed on to his children. Mark Knopfler was one of his favorite musicians. Larry attended a Fleetwood Mac concert for his 40th birthday. He enjoyed taking is family to countless musicals in Chicago through the years (“Phantom of the Opera,” “Wicked” and Ragtime, to name a few).
Larry spent the last eight years kindly caring for his mother LuElla in his home town of Fredericksburg.
There he reconnected with old friends and classmates, enjoying the morning coffee group and playing golf. He never missed a Tuesday night men’s golf outing.
Larry enjoyed time with his two children. Son Brock was playing golf with Larry and witnessed Larry’s amazing hole-in-one. He and Brock always played together in the Father-Son Day tournament in Elma.
He also loved attending his young grandson’s sporting events with Brock.
Another joy in Larry’s life was spending time with his daughter Emma, driving to Rochester, Minnesota, most weeks to take her to lunch or bring her coffee and pie or do a little shopping. Larry was a fierce advocate for Emma.
Larry attended St. John’s Lutheran Church with his mom for the past eight years.
Survivors include his son, Brock Edwards (Julie) and three grandsons Mason (10), Gavin (8), and Rowan (5); his daughter, Emma Edwards of Rochester, Minnesota; his ex-wife, Jill Richardson (William) of Winona, Minnesota; his mother, LuElla Edwards of Fredericksburg; his brother, Bruce (Melinda) of Fairfax, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends
His father, Ross W. Edwards preceded him in death, as did his sister-in-law Linda Edwards. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
