Mildred “Millie” Martha Briggs, age 96, of New Hampton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in New Hampton.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Hampton.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Gathering Space prior to the mass. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Online condolences for Mildred’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com.
Mildred “Millie” Briggs was born on Dec. 20, 1918 on the family farm near North Washington to George and Martha (Zimmer) Nosbisch. She graduated from North Washington High School. Millie met and was united in marriage to Rolley L. Briggs and the couple made their home in Fargo, ND where they lived until Rolley’s retirement. They then moved to Phoenix, Ariz. where they lived until Rolley’s death in 1990. Millie then returned to New Hampton where she has lived ever since. Millie enjoyed fishing with her husband, playing cards, going out to eat with friends, traveling and visiting with her family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Millie is survived by several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Germaine Nosbisch of New Hampton. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Martha Nosbisch; husband Rolley L. Briggs; brothers Harold, Raymond, and Francis Nosbisch; and sisters Gladys Birmingham and Florine Murray.
