Nashua-Plainfield falls in Class 1A regional duals

Nashua-Plainfield’s dual meet season came to an end Tuesday night, but the Huskies put up a respectable showing in a 47-25 loss to MFL-Mar-Mac, which came into the Class 1A regional duals as the eight-ranked team in the state.
The Huskies got wins from Jakob Whitinger (113), Trey Nelson (120), Kollyn Lentz (126), Derik Downing (170) and Tanner Striegel (285).
While MFL-Mar-Mac was dispatching the Huskies, Lake Mills rolled to a 65-9 win over North Butler/Clarksville, and Lake Mills then beat MFL 49-22 to claim a trip to the state duals that will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Des Moines.
Nashua-Plainfield will now prepare for Saturday’s Class 1A district tournament in Denver, where Whitinger (113), Shane Hillesheim (145), Downing (160) and Evan Kalainoff (182) will compete in the tournament that begins at noon.
