Nashua-Plainfield girls fall to two powerhouse squads

Lead Summary

Not only did the Nashua-Plainfield girls embark on one of the more hectic portions of its schedule last weekend, it did so against two outstanding teams.
The Huskies started a four-game, seven-day stretch with a 71-23 loss to Class 3A third-ranked Osage on Friday and then fell to Class 1A’s eight-ranked Clarksville 60-21 on Saturday.
“It makes it a little tougher,” Nashua-Plainfield coach Josh Smith said when asked about having twice the number of games than practices during a stretch that included a home game with North Butler on Tuesday and a game at Riceville tonight [Thursday]. “We have to make sure we’re spending our practice time wisely in between games and doing our best to get the girls their legs back.”
The fact that the Huskies opened the run with games against two teams with a combined record of 15-1 didn’t help matters.
