New Hampton girls sizzle on course

The birdies cost Eric Olson some money, but then again, he wasn’t complaining Tuesday night as his team departed Willow Run Country Club in Denver.  The Chickasaws made a spirited run at a school record round, missing the mark set in 2015 by one stroke on their way to a 177-217 victory over the Cyclones.  “We had great conditions but I think a big part of it was we didn’t have those first-meet jitters at all,” Olson said of his team’s 13-stroke improvement from its first meet four days before. “We just looked more relaxed and ready to go.”  As it was in that season-opening win over Charles City, balance carried the day for New Hampton.  For the full story, please see the April 14 Tribune.
