Reicks medals, but South Winn sweeps Turkey Valley

Turkey Valley had the best golfer, but South Winn's boys had more balance as Trojan golfers were hosting South Winn on an afternoon not fit to be outdoors. The Warriors swept both the boys and the girls meets.  "First of all, I would like to commend the golfers from both schools for their fortitude and commitment to play on such a cold night," began coach John Reicks.  "Temps around 37 degrees brought the windchill down to the upper 20s but the kids stayed tough and actually shot some very good scores. No complaining of any kind. Seems like every time we play the Warriors the weather doesn't want to cooperate, but like we told the kids 'this will get you ready for the conference and the post-season.'"  Cale Reicks was the medalist for the meet with the first sub-40 round of his career, scoring a 3-over par 39.  The rest of the story may be found in the May 2 Tribune.
