Trapshooters learn the ‘240s lesson’

Lead Summary

For the first time all spring, the New Hampton trapshooting team lost a meet to someone other than Waverly-Shell Rock.
Osage 1 came away victorious on Saturday at Fredericksburg Sportsman’s Club, defeating runner-up New Hampton Red 240-239.
“It’s getting to the time of the year when scores go up and down,” New Hampton assistant trapshooting coach Gayle Poncelet said.
“If you don’t shoot in the 240s as a squad, there’s a good chance you won’t win. Everyone’s game steps up once you near the end of the season.”
