Triple OT thriller

Lead Summary

After Turkey Valley’s 66-52 win over South Winn Friday, Trojan junior Breanna Busta thought her team passed the test of having back-to-back games — they won 49-42 over Central Thursday — with flying colors. She still had some energy left.
But that was before Saturday’s match-up against Kee High.
The same nine girls, playing for the third consecutive night, went up against a team that spent much of the season in the 1A rankings before dropping out recently, and took the Kee Hawks into triple overtime before outscoring their visitors 6-2 in the third OT for  61-57 victory.
Kee High had edged the Trojans by a point earlier in the season, but the victory over South Winn Friday also avenged an earlier loss for the TV girls. It was, in fact, their last loss. Turkey Valley hasn’t had a loss yet in 2019, currently on an eight-game winning streak as of Sunday.
“We were ready to play this time,” Busta said after Friday’s win. “It feels really good to come back and beat them, especially with the lack of practice we’ve had because of the weather.”
