Trojan girls see golf season end at 1A regional

Lead Summary

There were no surprises when Turkey Valley’s girls competed at the Class 1A regionals last Monday, according to coach John Reicks.
“Realistically going in to the meet, I was hoping we could eke out a fourth place finish and that is exactly what happened,” he said after his team’s season came to an end with a solid performance at the Silver Springs course in Ossian.
Junior Jaedyn Winter led the Trojans in what Reicks called a “rugged nine-team field. Winter was 11th among the 50 golfers at the meet, but only the top six advanced to the second round of regional action. Clayton Ridge and Edgewood-Colesburg finished 1-2 in the meet and will both advance.
