Turkey Valley boys qualify trio of relays

Lead Summary

Relays were the story of the evening for the Turkey Valley boys’ track team on Friday. The 4x800, distance medley, and 4x400 all performed well enough at the district track meet in Edgewood to qualify for the state competition this week.
The 4x800 quartet of Seth Huinker, Eli Nymeyer, Kalvin Langreck, and Elliott Dietzenbach claimed victory in this event, boasting a time of 8:32.48. This was a personal best showing of the season for them, as their previous mark was 8:38.25.
Not only was it good enough to win the district, but it also places them eighth best in Class 1A. This means they will take part in the fast heat at the blue oval, and they have a good chance at medaling as one of the fastest eight teams. The alternates for Turkey Valley are Kade Kruse and Kannon Leuenberger.
