Turkey Valley softball advances

New Hampton Tribune and Nashua Reporter - Staff Photo -

A big first inning against Nashua-Plainfield Tuesday night propelled the Turkey Valley girls to the second round of regional action.
At the start of the second inning, the Trojan girls owned a 5-0 lead and would go on to win 9-4 over the Huskies.
For Turkey Valley, Jalyssa Blazek led at the plate, going 4-for-4 while Josie Weber singled, doubled and pitched the win, striking out six. The Huskies, though, had some power as both Breanna Hackman and Brynn Wright homered in the loss.
The TV girls won't have time to enjoy the win as they will take their 20-10 record into the next round Wednesday night against and at North Butler. The Bearcats are 17-5.
Game time at North Butler is 7 p.m.
