Umpire heads to the Hall

When Bill Boyd heard the news about his induction into the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame, he wasn’t sure what to think.
“I think the first thing I thought was, ‘Really?’ Not that I’m not honored but to me, I was thinking there are other guys who are more deserving than me,” he said before adding with that trademark Bill Boyd mischievous smile, “and then I figured it was just because I’m getting old.”
Make no mistake about it, though, Boyd has the pedigree of a Hall of Famer.
