Underage drinking will be focus of Sunday meeting in Nashua

St. John Lutheran Church and Chickasaw Connections will host a town-hall meeting Sunday afternoon as part of “Communities Talk: Town Hall Meetings to Prevent Underage Drinking.”The purpose of the event is to teach adults about local drug and alcohol trends and new initiatives to create a healthier Chickasaw County."We had such a great response from the town hall meeting held in New Hampton last spring,” Chickasaw County Iowa partnerships for Success Coordinator Carol Hopp said, “that we wanted to give Nashua adults and parents the opportunity to learn and share ideas as well.”The meeting beings at noon at St. John’s and refreshments will be served."Each of us has a role and responsibility," Hopp said. “Alcohol contributes to issues in every county in Iowa. In Chickasaw County, we are fortunate to have support for preventing underage drinking including coalition members who devote their time and energy for the well being of youth." \
